According to Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the fire, which was reported at 8:50pm, affected three three-storey buildings.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and further investigation is required to determine it. The fire damaged various goods, including key lock/cylinders, decoration fittings, and Christmas items, the value of which is yet to be determined. Adeseye mentioned that prompt action by firefighters prevented the fire from spreading beyond the top floors of the buildings.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities, and the fire operations are now in the dampening down phase.
